We supply vessels in build, in dry dock and afloat. Our new-building initial stores work includes Monsoon Enabler for Edda Wind and Ocean Infinity’s Armada 86 series, both at Vard Vung Tau, and ongoing supply at Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard.
Do you supply initial stores for new-building vessels?
Yes. Initial stores for new-building vessels is our core specialism and the work the company is built around. We act as a single supply point for the whole package: we source from manufacturers across every store category, consolidate everything into one project delivery, and deliver to the yard against its outfitting programme. The yard manages one supplier and one schedule instead of dozens. Items are specified against the vessel’s classification requirements, and our procurement runs under a DNV-certified ISO 9001:2015 quality system. We have supplied new-building projects in Vietnam since 2015, hundreds of projects to date.
For what a package contains, see below. For recent projects, see our most recent new-building work.
What is your most recent new-building project?
Our most recent new-building work was at Vard Vung Tau. We supplied Monsoon Enabler, a commissioning service operation vessel delivered to Edda Wind in August 2025, and Ocean Infinity’s Armada 86 series of optionally crewed robotic vessels, the last of which was delivered in December 2025. We also supply new-building projects at Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard in Ninh Hoa.
What is included in an initial stores package?
An initial stores package covers everything a new vessel needs to operate from day one: deck stores, engine stores, electrical stores, safety and life-saving equipment, cabin and galley items, medical supplies, navigation consumables and commissioning materials. We consolidate the full package against the yard’s specification and the vessel’s classification requirements, and deliver it to the yard on the build schedule.
Provisions and bonded stores are quoted separately, and we supply both.
How quickly can you deliver to a vessel at anchorage?
We work to each vessel’s schedule rather than a fixed lead time, and we arrange delivery around the client’s requirement. For urgent orders we can deliver as fast as 24 hours from a confirmed purchase order. Send the requisition with the vessel name, IMO number, port or location and required delivery date, and we will confirm a delivery time with the quotation. We deliver to vessels at anchorage, alongside, in dry dock and at shipyards.
What do I need to provide to get a quotation?
Send your requisition to info@vietnamshipsupply.com or submit it through the quotation form on this site. Include the vessel name, IMO number, the port or location, the required delivery date and your product list. Excel, PDF, Word, JPG and PNG files up to 10MB can be attached.
Do you supply bonded stores and provisions?
Yes. We supply fresh, frozen and dry provisions for cargo ships, cruise vessels, offshore units and service craft, sourced from certified suppliers and delivered under hygiene and safety control. We also supply bonded stores including cigarettes, alcohol, beer and snacks.
How do bonded stores work?
Bonded goods are duty and tax unpaid. A vessel on an international voyage counts as an export in customs terms, so it can take these goods aboard duty-free. They move from a bonded warehouse to the vessel under customs control and arrive sealed, against the vessel’s stores declaration.
Two things follow. The seal stays intact while the vessel is alongside unless customs authorises otherwise, so bonded stores are not available for consumption in port. And the quantity permitted is set against crew number and voyage length rather than against what is ordered, because the allowance exists to stop bonded goods reaching the local market.
Bonded stores also have to come from a chandler authorised to operate under bond. An ordinary retailer cannot deliver them at any price.
